howdy all, I'm looking for info on a error code (AE-6) I now have after using the bracketing mode on my pro 1. the bracketing mode no longer works, and it shows this code AE-6 in the display panel. the camera works fine in the other modes it seems. I have tried: new battery, battery out over night, new memory, standing on one leg while switching to the bracketing mode, it's gone. and I miss it! thanks for your time. best regards

thanks for the heads up about the small battery. i pulled the battery out, and cleaned it, then reinstalled it and set the date. then tried the bracketing mode. viola! it's working again! but i noticed the error code AE-6 was still in the display panel?? so i read the manual more slowly, and find that the AE-6 is not a error code. i made that assumption when the bracketing stopped working, and i started trouble shooting looking for the problem. AE-6 is the camera letting me know it's been set to the bracketing mode:) i'm going to replace the Battery, and hope for the best. and yes, read the manual more closely. thanks again. best regards

Hi dustyboots welcome to the forum

I am glad you solved the problem with just a new CR2016 lithium battery thanks to the etaf's tip. It is a remainder to change my own date battery that is still the factory installed one.

About the display code, it is not a number six, it is a letter B after AEB or Auto Exposure Bracketing.
In the display panel an uppercase B resembles an eight and the lowercase b resembles a six. Either way, it is prone to confusion.
By the way the display is FC-b for focus bracketing and AE-b for Auto Exposure Bracketing as you already noted.

I usually check the symbols in the viewfinder or LCD, very seldom in the display panel.
