I just got my new 100-400L and I took it for a test drive. This is about the best I came across to shoot. C&C welcome, but I will tell you, this is my first posting for Critiques, so be gentle and honest. :)

My eyes see well enough, and the camera is capable enough, now if they would just work together.

Very nice for a first post. I like the natural diagonals that the wood and blades of grass create. The butterfly is a bit centered, but the composition is still nice. The only thing I might do differently is get closer and crop to position the butterfly more to one side.

Nicely done. :)

Whew, Thanks Liza, that wasn't so bad. My mouse is a little sweaty waiting for that first critique. I'll try to keep the non-centering in mind on later shots. I did want to go closer, but I wanted to leave the blades of grass in for the framing effect.

Thanks Again
Jack
