There was an anti **** rally at our state capitol today. Thought I would give photo journalism a try...

1 and 5 really tell a story - I'm not sure if you can say the same about 2 and 3. 4 would be nice but you can't really tell who he's giving the bird too . . .

Nice shots though.

I like the cop shot.

The funny thing about this protest is there are 6 or 7 ****s, 45 protesters, 90 cops and not an angry black person in site. Actually I don't even see so much as a tan where the heck do you live? Why don't they all just cram into the local coffee house and talk about it.
Forgive my cynicism but I cover protests in D.C. and it is usually a bit different.

good question, i can't understand why **** would be replaced with *. there are some good shots, i think b&w conversions might look nice too! or maybe selective color of the **** flag with everything else b&w might look cool too... just some ideas. :)

Nice shots, DigitalMDX.
I like the cop shot too. You must have used a fairly long lens, as I don't see you closely relfected in his shades.
It's amusing that we see no supporters gathered behind the uniformed rallyists.

Ought to be . . .
Would you call someone that as a pleasantry?

Back to the qualities of the photos, pholks.
I like the reflection photo best also coupled with the total expressionless look on the cop's face.
The gentleman in #4 is communicating rather emotionally yet effectively.
Good PJ work DigitalMDX, one of my favorite types of photography.

Bless the recently fallen and their family and friends.
I have a Cannon with me at all times. You can't take the shot if you don't have something with which to shoot.

Good observation.

Did you get any other images that depict just how isolated and alone the brown shirts really were?

Thanks for your comments GreatNorthWood
BillsBayou the Cop shot was taken at 130mm plus a doubler, 260mm, I do have a tighter shot at 300mm (600mm)
Issac Brock: The **** were put in automatically by the board... didn't know what to replace them with so I left them.

LOL, There were about 10 - 12 N**z*s there, and about 1 law enforcement for every 5 protestors. Had this been in DC you would't be seeing my pictures posted here, except a few poor ones at 600mm.
Thanks for the comments.

This was taking place in a circular drive between the Capitol Building and the Temple of Justice.
The N*** folks were on the Capitol Steps, then there was a chain link fence put up. Next we have the center of the circle full of the Washington State Patrol in their riot helmets followed by orange pilars with caution tape and finally the anti-N*** protestors.
Thanks for your comments.

Hi Skip, The lens I had was too long to capture the entire event. The below shot is the best I could do, taken in a guys sun glasses at the far corner of the gathering. You can make out the N*** group on the Capitol Steps, at the bottom of the steps is the chain link fence and then SWAT members spaced about 25' apart, then the circular driveway (road and parking) then in the center median are the Washington State Patrol with their riot helmets, then the caution tape and pylons I mentioned above and then you can see the edge of the protestors.
Thanks...

if they were one, then they'd like to be called one. it's not a swear and it's not a bad word in my opinion. if it were, then they'd have to right to do what they're doing. personally i think they're a bunch of idiots living off a dead belief, but that's my $.02
