A couple of pics testing my new 100mm f/2.8 macro with 1.4x TC to extend reach. 1st pic is a crab spider I spotted hanging out on a leaf of a purple coneflower and 2nd is a bloom of a zinnia, both taken in the backyard.

I know, I was pretty peeved when I saw this. I've had other shots ruined secondary to the dirtys. I have used the rocket blower with some success, but I'm afraid I need to send it in to be cleaned professionally.

Wow! I like your crab spider. I see you used a Tamron extender with your macro lens. The book that came with my lens states that you can not use the EF extender with it. Is there something different about the Tamron that makes it compatible?

Sharpness is good. Works OK with a 2X as well.

As they say that sensor needs a clean, I use the rocket blower to start with, then the sensor brush. That gets 90% of it. Haven't resorted to the wet method yet.

The odd bit of dust is easy to spot out of a shot with the clone tool in PS or there is one in the DPP that came with the camera if you don't have PS.
