I'm just a little hesitant that the L class may just show up the short comings of my 20D sensor and I will end up with worse shots

What shortcomings do you think your 20D's sensor has?? 20D's are more than capable of producing super-SHARP images and would certainly benefit from better glass... I don't think ANYONE would EVER tell you that better glass will make your pictures worse because of "sensor shortcomings" •••••••

jabtas Goldmember More info | Not at all, still more than happy to be using the 8mp of my 20D (I never mentioned anything about getting another body), just reluctant to drop a grand on glass that may not show improvements, especially as my current combo seems to be so well matched Tim

Not a lot of blue skies, unfortunately. Overcast conditions are great for portraits of people, but not so good for landscapes, etc. But, it is what it is. My dad is one of those guys (pigeon feeders....loves pigeons. He caught and released this little friend of his). My daughter (wants to be an actress, and I think she might have the talent for it. Time will tell). Lifeguards (sorry, ladies. Weather was chilly...they wore jackets).
Big waves Not a bad lens. Really good for a travel lens. But not a great lens by any means. There's a reason people sell it, new (from a kit) for $250 or so. It's not as good as the suggested retail price would have you believe (which is about $450). It's an inconsistent lens, but like I said, if you want something with IS USM and a wide range for travel, it's a good one to have. If I go to fullframe (hopefully within a year or two) and really boost up the lens collection, I'll keep the T2i with the 28-135 attached for those times when I just want something I can toss around and enjoy.
Thank you.
