I need some basic advice..AF mode, metering mode ..

what focus mode do you use? 1 shot, ai servo etc?

Also what metering mode do you guys use?

This probably sounds noobish and it probably is but I figured I would ask.

Also do you shoot in burst mode, like take 3 or 4 pics of the bug while you autofocus and hope to get one that is in focus. Any tips will help. I looked at the sticky and found some usefull information but I didnt find any specific to my questions.

Most people use MF and M metering.

Manual focus for all my macro shots . Camera mode depends on the setup- if you are using flash then manual mode, for natural light shots either TV or AV depending on the subject and light (I try to keep the shutter speed faster than 1/100th and the aperture around F8-F11).

manual focus, manual mode, 1/200 @ f11, 430ex flash on flash bracket with offshoe adaptor #2, fec adjustments to suit the image in question. I wouldn't recommend using AF in all honesty.
