I looked at these on my work PC and they where great, now I've looked at them on my eye calibrated MAC... wow they are stunning.

It shows that even simple callibration makes a world of difference.

Fantastic Brian.

Have you got some magic flute to charm these bugs, as soon as I get within 2-3 feet of dragons they are away unless they have just emerged.

Yes all but the headshot were with the sigma 105mm no tubes on the 300D in natural light (bright sunny day). Was shooting in TV mode 1/200th ISO400 with the aperture coming out around F10 apart from the finger shot which I think went to about F22 (hence the DOF). The were handheld using my normal bean pole to help stabilise the camera (or me) a bit.
Brian V.

Using the bean pole with a dragonfly on one finger must be quite a trick! Is there anything you can't do?!?

Wonderful shots as always, you should write a book :)

Lovely series Brian, especially like the image of the dragonfly on your finger, and the closeup of the eyes!!! As usual, very sharp, lovely colours and great DOF.

Thanks Lester,
Just luck I think- Last year I couldn't get near the males of this species but the females were very cooperative ;) so I'd assumed the males were a lot more easily spooked. Maybe it had recently emerged but I thought that they were the same as Damsels and only developed full colour after a few days?
