For those, like me who are reading this when they should be catching up on some beauty sleep - a nightcap.

First post, be gentle

Unless its really terrible, in which case, let me have it.

Gnight!

Hmm, 35 views and no comments :(

What should I have done to make this photo better? I was using a 50mm 1.8, and trying to bring out the red in the glass.

It certainly is! A Dow's tawny.

Hmmm, I,m not sure about what to say on this one. I find it very dark on my monitor, not much red coming through on the glass. I don't like the fact that the level of the port is slanted. It really doesn't do much for me.

How about if it was on its side with a puddle of port on the table?

I'm confused, is that glass half empty or half full? ;)

Nice light!

You're right, the slant is unfortunate, but less than it orginally was! Turns out that I'd had a larger than recommended night cap a bit earlier, and the plank of wood it was resting on was actually a bit crooked. I was actually hoping to get a lot more red shadow, but didn't have enough lighting power.

Thanks JCR, I like your version - was it just a matter of a bit more brightness/sharpening or?

Duplicated glass, small amount of saturation, pinch of smart sharpen and a little levels adjustments.

I hope you enjoyed the drink after :)

Neither. It means you are half way to the next glass full.:)

I have a long way to go with my pp skills!

Yes, I enjoyed the drink after - just the thing after a hard days work/play. :D

Thanks for the replies everyone, and especially for the fix-up, JCR.
