Its winter here and the Motor Bike Frog (Formerly: Western Green Tree Frog ) doesn't display much colour here in winter. I have another I photographed in the peak of summer, you wouldn't have recognised it.

Nice shot but would benefit from more DOF, you shot at f3.5, I would suggest stopping down a lot more, f8 or even f16. A slightly tigher composition if the frog lets you.

Also nice to get some real close ups of eye detail to go with the full body shot, again if the subject permits.

BTW: Do the ride Harleys? :)

Thanks for the advice, I will try upping the F's tonight.

I attempted going up a few stops last night however things got a bit blurry - though that may have been the wine!

They are named Motor bike frogs due to they mating call which sounds like a bike changing gears. When I was in the Thailand jungles I heard one that was revving at about 100db @ 30cm

Good shot :)

Does he live with you? I shot one a few months back, but sadly, at the zoo and he was behind glass :(
One of my boys wants frogs... and the motorbike is his favourite!! :D

Great photo. Can you post photos of your other frogs (and the peak of summer one, I'm guessing he is green)?
