Shot using a flash as the sun didn't no whether to stop out or go in, and it was a bit breezy.

Not sure what this is, cool how it has two spots for false eyes.

Both Common Field Grasshoppers (Chorthippus brunneus)

Perhaps I should have done a tighter crop on this one.

Excellent series.
#1 is a plant bug of some type.
Think #4&5 are actually hoverflies Eristalis sp.

Thanks Brian, I got a cheap Collins book of British Wildlife and the photo in there of the Bee looked just like mine :rolleyes:

Turns out it is a Eristalis interruptus
