I lost my manual for my 550ex...can anyone tell me how to swith the 550ex to FP Flash mode with my D30.

Mode switch on the left side of the 550EX.

You have to press the + and - keys on the flash at the same time.

Remember to look to see how far your flash will throw. The higher the speed the less distance you have to work with.

To further elaborate on this...
Switch on. Probably set mode to E-TTL, if this is for a D30. Then push + and - at the same time to get the little lightning bolt and H icon. When I first got my 550EX, I could not figure out what the + - button markings meant until I read the manual.

Also when I first got my 550EX, I could not figure out why its range was suddenly diminishing when I went to that mode. Again, I had to read the manual.
