Take heart. My first two were shot with an inexpensive Tamron zoom and the last was shot with the Nifty Fifty!

The first in my three pics was taken with the kit lens. The second was taken with a Sigma 12-24 and the third was taken with a Sigma 24-70.

I still use it for some things. Respect it's limitations & it will produce a pretty good 12X18" print. ;)

ok.. i'm very new to photography.. but how long have you guys been at this? some of these pictures look very professional...

Fantastic images by everyone in this thread.

I realy hated to make the choice of my 3 prefered photos, so I decided to include 3 photos that I like,
taken with diferent lenses.

Concert pano taken handheld with the 50mm f/1.8.
I did it several times until I reached the optimum exposure and also "spray" velocity from one shot to another,
standing on a chair and clinching to a post.

Evening walk with the family, unexpected light and clouds, went to a rock and tried to use it as a tripod.

Had the 70-200mm f/4 mounted and was trying to take photos of an heron that never got close enough.
