I was chatting with DH last night about my tough decision between the 70-300 IS and the 70-200 f/2.8 IS. After discussing for a while he said he thought I'd be a fool not to get the L-glass and told me to order it today!!! I can't wait for BH to open up tonight so I can press that order button! Then the wait starts. I have lusted after this lens since I bought my 20D.

Congrats on this to-be fine purchase. FWIW, B&H isn't taking orders until later tonight, but be sure to type in this code in the search engine there "PSMAY06020". It'll get you the lens for only $1599. BTW, there's also a $50 rebate on the lens through Canon right now as well. http://www.beachtr.com …aimForm4.1.06-7.15.06.pdf (external link)

ayup 70-200 and 70-300 are both great lens (not the 75-300, the 70-300!).

I'm sure youll enjoy the buildquality and F/2.8 with your decision.

That's quite a price difference! But I think you made the right decision as well, given that you can afford it... :D
