I found an elevated spot North & West of downtown and The Strip area to shoot the bustling gaming town from the outside. Here are a few images that I hope you like.
-Bruce
This was shot with a 35mm Zeiss Flektogon lens.

A little closer to downtown with the 135mm Sonnar

The wind had come up really strong by the time I got to this shot. The haze you see is heavy dust in the air.

Here you can see the dust storm is picking up on The Strip. It DID help the light from the Luxor to show up in this next image though (see the vertical light beam on the left.).

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

It is amazing how the strip just seems to poke up out of the middle of the desert.

Bless the recently fallen and their family and friends.
I have a Cannon with me at all times. You can't take the shot if you don't have something with which to shoot.

I like how it has a tilt to it, too. Probably good if you're riding a bike, as you'd never have to pedal in one of the directions.:p

j/k

Nice pics. :D

Skip, YES, LV just sort of emerges from the desert floor.

Geez, Bruce, you could go back and straighten the horizon and provide a link to a bigger size for appreciation.

OK Dwight, You've now shame'd me into straightening the closeup of downtown, and added links to three of the originals.
Hey, in my defense, it was getting real windy out. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. :p

Well, you know these are really wonderful photos but I don't want you to get as swelled a head as I have! :-)

Thanks Reed, :D We are looking South to Southeast towards McCarran Airport and its flight path in this shot, so what you're seeing is air traffic from across the valley. ;)
