Wanted - Zoom Lens

Hi There...

I'm looking for a "do the job" Zoom Lens.
I have a standard 18-55mm lens that came with my 20D.
I'm going to the Air Show on Sunday and want something to take close up shots of the planes when they are static.

I won't be shooting them as they fly all over the place.

I'd be happy to rent for the weekend also.

What sort of focal length do you need? I guess that depends on how close you get to the planes...

You might find the 18mm end of your kit lens, stopped down to f/8 or smaller where it shines brightest, to be the most useful.

im in agreement with CDI on this. i used a 75-300 at an airshow and for static shots i was finding 75mm too long. so i would have to backup.this usually meant i would have people passing between me and the plane.i eventually switched to the kit lens.
