Hi Ray, great shot.

The bug looks to be inside a flower of some kind. I am wondering what type of flower? I have seen a very similar looking insect inside a daylily. It just seems to hang out there. I have a macro shot of it at home, maybe I will post it after I get home, to compare.

I was just curious, I guess, if this insect always hangs out in Lilies.

The flower is a california poppy. And he was definitely hanging out on it. Maybe for the sunshine?

After getting home and looking at my picture again, I guess it isn't the same insect. So I won't hijack your thread with my own picture.

I wonder if they do "sunbathe" inside these flowers.
