Hello pakololo;
Nice capture...
Would you post the set-up & EXIF data for the shot please?
I tried the other night for some moon shots, and didn't get any really satisfactory results...
Thanx;
Lee

Nice image

Just remember though, the best time to capture a moon is when it's about 1/2 or 3/4 full. This is because the sun shines on it at an angle, and you can see shadows from the craters more clearly, giving the image a crisper and richer feel.. like this:

Your pic does look slightly blurry though (could just be my rubbish eyes). What camera & lens combination were you using?

Gear used:
20d
Sigma 70-300mm
Canon Remote Switch RS-80N3
and some cheap tripod

EXIF data here:

Manual Exposure
300mm
1/200 sec
f11
ISO 100

While attempting to take this photo, i was getting a white spot, my on camera meter was saying it was exposed correctly but if you thinkg about it, its exposing the whole frame, but 90% of the frame is black. Therefor you have to underexpose to properly expose the shinning light.oh yea i also used the mirror lock up function #12 on the 20d to prevent any kind of vibrations

Hope this helps, id like to see some results if you give it a try...

Yea AdamJL thats a real nice picture i like how you can see the detail, was that shot using a camera only? or a telescope attached? because thats what i wanted to do but my gear didnt let me :(

Thanks :)

I'm not sure (I didn't take that picture).

But you're right. Unless you're using L glass, with a tripod and are at least at 300mm, you might not get good enough detail to crop. And if you are at 300mm, you will need to crop or use a TC (and then crop :lol:)
