It has the integrated graphics from Intel, so it does share video memory w/ the primary memory of the OS. My fix for that was bumping it up to 2 gig of ram as soon as I purchased the machine.
I would think it would handle RAW well, but I'm still shooting in jpg myself. My macbook drives a 20 inch cinema display and I have had no problems w/ anything I throw at is it. This is at full resolution w/ both displays (1280x800 & 1680x1050).
I won't go into the hard sell, because I firmly believe there is a place for both platforms (mac and pc), but the software that comes with the mac and not having to worry about spyware/adware/virus' at this time is worth the extra cost in my world...
