I see that many of the gear lists have a G and a number behind the camara's name, how do I know what I have? I am still waiting for mine to arrive, so maybe this will be answered when it gets here, but any info will help. Also, are all lenses interchangable, or are some taboo on the cannons?

Any camera that's got a "G" followed by a number is a Canon Powershot G series. They're point and shoot cameras, although very capable. Get into the EOS cameras, and you can change lenses all you want.

The cameras with G's + a number are compact cameras, not DSLR's. Only Canon EF or Canon-mount third party lenses fit on DSLR's unless you want to purchase a special adapter. And just out of curiosity, don't you know what you ordered?

They got the XT and 18-55, along with some lighting.

Aw, poor liza. Want me to slow down? :p

I have a Rebel XT EOS, so any brand of lenses will work, OK I understand. What are the 300D and 350D's mean? I bought the best I could afford so I can do the stuff I am asked to do with no probs.

The Rebel XT is the same as a 350D. It has an EF lens mount so any EF or EF-S lens will work with it including those from Canon, Tamron, Tokina, Sigma, etc.

The 300D was the predecessor to the 350D and was called the Digital Rebel.
