proper method of filter out dirt, speck on picture?

how do I use photoshop to filter out dirt ,specks on a reflective subject without making the color blur out? I use the filter section but the text background just blur out. Am I doing something wrong?

You shouldn't use any filters that affect the whole image.

How bad is the dust/dirt? Usually I use the clone stamp (its on the tool bar) to individually remove each spec, without ruining the overall image (if done right you will never be able to tell that anything was removed).

Try Googling "Photoshop clone stamp" for some tutorials.

I used to clone my dust bunnies but have taken to using the healing brush. It is much better, imo, assuming that you have a decent source to select from.
