I think no 2 might have been better either with more wing blur to suggest movement, or less, but as it is it's just blurred. No 1 is nice.

Thanks for the comments. My friends own the butterfly reserve and it is a pleasure to spend a few days doing nothing but taking pictures.
eccles thanks for the C&C. I need help. I have just gotten Photoshop CS2 but I have no idea how to use it. Any help that ya'll can send my way would be appreciated.
So far, the only thing I have been doing is removing the noise with Noiseware and trying to do some sharpening with smart sharpen. I have a long way to go!
The blur is probably operator error. I tend to not be steady at the shutter release and using a delayed shutter usually ends up the the bug has flown away. Using a tripod is out of the question and a monopod is difficult as well. I will usually remove the center column of of my tripod, attach a ballhead and use it as an extension of my arm to get into position. This works pretty well when I really concentrate on being steady.
Thanks.

Very good shots. The first one of the black butterfly is excellent.

Thank you all for your kind words.
Brian, I have been following your shots for a while and your photos give me much incentive to improve. I hope that I can at least come close to your results, your work is superb. I feel honored to have your comments.
