not bad, not bad at all...The light seems very unatural, but all the rest is pretty well made...

Thanks T.O. I agree about the light. Do you think the light should be more conical and not a parabola?

I like it! it has a fantasy look to it. I can see it with a scripture verse or a poem. I am a little puzzled about the specks that look like sensor dust. If you could PS those out, I think you have something!

Consider the changing light source from day to night. By what source, and at what angle, is the foreground going to be lit?

The light cone is too "blue," too distinct/sharp and too transparent.

Take a photo of the tower when it's really dark out and you'll see certain things that are different, which will give you a better idea about nighttime light sources/shadows.

The light from the light house seems fake/photoshopped. Rest of it looks pretty good to me.

Yes, I think it would be improved with a conical shape (light always travels in straight lines). Another possibility would be to remove the light beam all together and put the moon on the other side so its not so close to the light house. I really like your conversion from day to night....Photoshop is a lot of fun but it sure takes up a lot of time! Good work.

Thanks for all your comments.

form: I don't think the lighthouse will have any distinct source of illumination at night considering where it is located (unless I have missed some obvious spot lights). But going back at night seems to be a good idea. Only problem is the park may close at dusk making it inaccessible (Not sure though)

I will work again on this and see if I can make it better. I lost all layer selections after I deleted a temporary folder where it was stored (accidentally) :( So, I have to start over again. Shouldn't be too difficult. Who knows, maybe I can do better this time over :)

Thanks again

I like it, but the light is... well...

When you draw it, you have to remember that it travels in a straight line. So you can put in a couple of cones - one very wide and the other one narrow.

Another obvious mistake is that the lighthouse itself should be blue.

Lookie here:

Shot in broad daylight with a blue filter. Underexposed by a stop or two. The technique is called "day for night"

Thanks for your suggestions and link Doc. That was very helpful. I will keep that in mind when I redo it. Appreciate it.
