Hiya All,

Well there I was scoffin my breaky when there was an ear splitting Scream from Ami, quick get it out she shouted & like the dutiful husband that I am I said pass my camera I need to take a shot of it first, needless to say tiz bread n water for a month of Sundays now, lol.

The quality's not much cop I'm afraid & I also forgot to reset the flash strength damn it so all in all I think I stuffed up, anyway someones gota be bad sometime eh??

Yep it was quite funny poor Ami has a Phobia of spiders even right down to the smallest one you can think of, shame really cause they're amazing creatures

:) :) #2 turned out well- looks like one of the house spider brigade- Tegenaria sp- can't you convince Ami they keep the house clear of other bugs ?

wow. that is a very detailed and ugly spider. definately pictureworthy, and the shots are great.

I try to take bug and spider pics for practice, but they are all boring plain black ones.

you guys have the most exotic bugs, i am jealous.

the one thing we have here in japan are those huge horned beetles that people here keep as pets. iam try to get my hads on one, although they are so big they almost dont qualify for macro shots.

Many thanks for your kind words, I think this is probable the biggest spider in the UK, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
How about those vicious Japanese Hornets now there's a challenge.

Hiya Misskitty, Leorooster,
Thanks for your comments, the first shot is a bad close up of the spider, I just got it all wrong I forgot to reset the flash output amongst other things.

I'd tried to do some night time shots the night before & had set the flash to full power, of then when I took these shot I'd not reset everything, you live & learn, well hopefully.

Sorry I left you out in that last reply totally unintentional I must have scrolled down the page to fast & just missed you, Thanks for your comment, I guess that bright eyes are better than red eyes but it was not how I expected things to turn out

that title goes to the raft spider with a body size of about 22mm (the females)
