I heard some soft screeching in the neighbor's trees, and I went to investigate. Three baby barred owls and one adult were amoung the branches.

Momma and 1 young. Unfortunatly, DOF was a little shallow at 5.6 and baby is a little OOF. 1/60 5.6 ISO 400 with 70-200 2.8L IS.

Great series, the barred owls are my fav. owl. I believe the barred and the barn are the only two owl species that dont have yellow eyes.Glad you had this opportunity to get some pictures.

Very nice pictures Ron! I really like the last one. The composition in the first is also interesting...

Thanks for all the great comments. Two and five seem to be the favorites. Here's a compromise shot. The eyes are half closed as he is just nodding off - lol.
