A few of us had commented lately how we seemed to have a fewer number of GBHs this year at Petrie Island and that they would surely start to show up in greater numbers soon. Well yesterday I found three within a 10 minute span, including this incredibly cooperative one.

I first saw it from relatively far away and took a few pictures with every few slow steps towards it until I was able to take these frame-filling portrait shots. Both shots are from the same angle, with the second one a tad closer and lying on my stomach in order to get the green reflections from the water.

EXIF: 1- 1/400s, f/8, ISO200, 400mm
2- 1/400s, f/8, ISO200, 300mm, -1/3EC
