Excellent captures Dan with very nice detail. exposure and BG. Hard to chose...I like the first one for the water BG but that green bokeh in the second makes the choice for me...super!

Thank you all!

Marc, the funny thing is I was clearly visible to it with nothing to hide behind. For some reason it tolerated me approaching it, albeit very slowly of course...

Nice shots indeed. The second one works the best for me because the colours seem to match perfectly.

Nice portraits Dan. I was on Prince Edward Island last week and you could see up to 15-20 at a time fishing in the estuary as the tide went out. They were well away from the shore and unapproachable for close-ups. I'll try and post a "group shot" when I get all my pictures downloaded and sorted.

WOW! Awesome!

3 questions (since these are the type of shots I hope to catch):

  1. What lens did you use?
  2. How close were you to the GBH?
  3. Do you think that is a shot a Rebel XT can catch (with enough knowledge)?

Thanks for sharing!

Randy

Hi Dan,
two well executed shots, excellent exposure and details. I prefer # 2 for the background as it makes his pop more, but only thing.. I would have liked if the crop on the left included his long head feather.
Regards,
Clare
