Anyone done a return/exchange with Sigmaforless?

I'm contemplating buying a lens from Sigmaforless.com that has been reported to have OOF issues on the right side of the lens from time to time. Their website says you have 7 days. Has anyone done a return or exhchange with these folks before? Pleasant experience, or should I be looking elsewhere?

which lens are you refering to? because i'm about to purchase the canon 17-55mm from them as well. i would like to know as well~~

I'm looking at the wide angle 10-20mm. Someone in another forum suggested looking them up @ resellerratings.com It looks like they have a fairly high rating there as far as pricing goes, but the ratings fall off sharply for customer service and return or replacement. Another thing I did learn from reading the feedback is that is appears they take the warranty card out of the box and want you to pay extra for it.

I think I'm going to steer clear of them.

kirk.. i too have heard about that. they call you and tell you that there is no warranty card, or you will have to pay for it. so that's why i'm skeptical about them as well. their pricing for the 17-55 vs. the B&H is about $60 or so different, which makes up for the warranty card i guess.

humm.. 10-20mm, i've read on a photo mag that was one of the lense they suggested for the 30D to have a wider angle due to 1.6 crop.

I'm definitely missing the wide angle in my lineup. For the most part I keep my 24-70 on the camera and find myself hitting the bottom of the range all the time.

Maybe I'll find a good buy through the forum here or on FM. Or maybe I'll just buy local. However, I will save myself the potential grief of dealing with these folks at sigmaforless. Chances are it would be fine, but I'd rather spend a few extra dollars and not have to worry about getting screwed with if I had problems with my purchase. Life is too short.

alot of people here have bought from sigma4less and are satisfy with their order. i did not get any calls from them trying to sell me additional warranty/accessories.

i bought a 24-70 ex (came with warranty card, etc) from them and am in the middle of returning it. i called CS and the guy was informative and told me to just shipped it back to them. now i just have to wait for the credit/refund to show up. but so far so good! i would buy from them again.

they just refunded my $$ back. it took about a week after they received it. no problem at all!

That's good. I'm glad you had good luck with them. I went came across a good deal on a Canon 10-22 and went with that instead.

It was actually a used lens that I came across on FM.

I have never ever heard of a charge for a warranty card from sigma4less. Though their lenses do normally come with only a one year warranty. They have always treated me right.

There prices are low on sigma lenses because they only include the international 1 year warrenty. If you purchase a sigma lens from any other US authorized dealer you get a sigma 4 year US warrenty. I questioned sigma4less about this and they said they would include the 4 year warrenty at an additional cost that put them a few dollars over B&H prices but they had lower shipping. So the lower price does come at the cost of a much shorter warrenty.
