Well you've really got me there, I don't normally like B&W Macro shots or very limited DOF shots but I like these :) especially #2

Hi Oleg, nice series. #3 is my fave - #2 is strong but my eyes prefer #3. Good work, well spotted on these images, and you've done a good job of making them abstract, using DOF to suit the shot in question. Black and white conversion has been done nicely as well - if you don't mind, what technique did you use to convert from colour to black/white?

I used an excellent tutorial (from this page (external link)) as a basis for my conversion. Just played with the tones untill I liked this particular one.
