Here are a couple of photos I snapped of my wife while she was reading "Parade", a weekly insert in the Sunday Oregonian newspaper. The 1st photo was taken with my EF 85 f/1.8 at f/2.2, ISO=200. The 2nd photo was taken with my nifty-fifty at f/1.8, ISO=100. Both photos were shot in RAW format and converted to sepia via Digital Photo Professional.

I took some time to play with the photos some more... and I came up with this "glow" version. What do you think?

Very nice. She either really, really likes what she's reading or she's great at acting like she's not being photographed.

She HATES being photographed! She was being really nice for me at the moment... but the peace didn't last all too long after that. "Stop pointing that thing at me!"

Found my wife lasts about 2-minutes (unless I tell her I will throw some funds for her to get some material for her sewing - her habit).... but then again, when I have to stand still while she measures me for a shirt/pants/whatever, i know how she feels (I last about 30 seconds). I do like these and have to look at the digital pro professional.

Would you mind explaining how you did the 'glow' effect? I can never seem to get mine to come out looking right.

You know, I think she looks a little 'hostile' there. She is obviously concentrating, but I feel I am too close as a viewer. Maybe a more wide angle shot would work better.

Perhaps in the context of the room, it would tell more of a story.

I like the pp though. That certainly works for me.

I like the glow version best.
I know hostile, around here it's "Oh God, he's got the camera out again"
Nice shot. :)
