I just tried using the Manual setting the first time. These are all hand held shots.

Hey Scott, The first two show the party atmosphere but the color balance looks off. The 3rd and forth need straightening. Try the 3rd shot again with a tripod, I like that one for some reason:-).

Thanks for the feedback Keiffer. Color balance is about the only thing I can do now as I just have my work computer, and it's almost impossible to get software put on. 3 and 4 are both hard to get to look level. The bridge is sloped down hill, and there isn't a straight waterline behind it. 4, the church is level, but the road in front is angled, also the distortion from the lens is exagerating it. Maybe it'd be better if I cropped the building next to it out. I'm sure I'll be trying these shots again though. The next piece of equipment on my list is a wide angle. I couldn't find a camera store in the city I went to this weekend, so I'm not sure when I'll find one. I didn't bring my tripod with me, but may get one over here depending how the prices are.

Nah, I wouldn't crop the pic, Just wait until you can get Photoshop, you'll be able to straighten it(lens correction) in it. And man if you go out at night throw that tripod in your trunk, better to have it and not use it than not to have it and can't use it. Keep up the good work.

I love Bamberg, used to live next door in Erlangen for almost 15 years before moving to the States. I hope you will go out shooting again, I'd love to see many more pics :)

You turned the Bamberger Dom into the Leaning Tower of Pisa ;). The converging verticals can easily be fixed in PS though. I wish you hadn't cut off the top, but that's just all the more reason to go out and shoot many more. Thanks for showing these :)

I was just trying to capture the car lights, as they hadn't lit the Dom up yet. Here's a shot of the Dom from a little earlier. I've shot Bamberg a few times. The other weekend, I took some close ups of the Rose Garden behind the Residence. This is about the best I can do with the kit lens. I went to Dresden last weekend, and never saw a camera store. This weekend is a big festival in Ebern, so I doubt I'll do much else. I'm only here for another 4 weeks, and plan to take some time to go to the Alps, and some of Italy.
