Thanks all. I must admit to a little plaguiarism. Having seen a similar shot to #1 elsewhere by someone else, I sought to get one like it, and purposely shot at a low viewpoint in trying for it.

a migrant from N.Africa - never seems to come to Richmond Pk despite the abundance of thistles. Love the lighting in both shots.

That's not plagiarism, that's experimentation... something we photographers cannot do without if we hope to improve.

I like 1 for the detail in the flower head. My only criticism is the overexposure on the right wing (bright sun I'm guessing).
