Ive got the use of a set of non-af extenion tubes and Im looking at the Kenko Teleplus Automatic Extension Tube Set DG but I want to see what others have acheived with extension tubes before I buy.

Oh a quick question can you adjust your Apature with extension tubes, I noticed with the ones im using AV reads 00

Hand held, woops need a tripod and no wind :)

Post your best and if possible the lens you used.

Here is mine Canon 50mm F1.4

Shot below taken with a pentax 50mm lens on a set of Kmount ext tubes with the last tube fitted to a modded canon T mount. Completely manual operation. The Kenko tubes will give you full auto operation including aperture control.

Well, this is a bit of cheating - 68mm of Kenko tubes + 50mm + 1.4x TC + 2x TC (yup). Tripod mounted using a Manfrotto macro plate, using the remote release. Gives around 4x or so - very clumsy setup, very heavy. I selected this shot because of the setup, and I wanted to have a quickish look for images.

hehehe, yeah but it's more a pain than anything, trust me. It takes a lot of practice to get handheld shots with a normal setup as far as I'm concerned, adding a TC to it makes it even more difficult. Mayabe in a few more years when I've got another 30k or 40k shots under my belt and I'm a better photographer ;)

Wonderful shots so far.

I keep thinking about getting some tubes, but then I think about getting the nifty fifty, and then I think about saving up for an L, and then I just give up thinking and shoot with what I have.

This usually happens once a day, depending on how many times I log onto this forum...
