In our pond you'll find all sorts of creatures, we have no fish because it's strictly a 'wildlife' pond.

Two years ago to the day, I snapped this shot with my Canon Powershot A80... It shows a Dragonfly laying her eggs on a lily pad in our pond. These eggs eventually turn into Dragonfly larvae.

And this morning I found the outer casing of a Dragonfly Larva, these ferocious creatures live in the pond for two years feeding on tadpoles and anything else that crosses their path. I have on several occasions spotted them in the pond usually underneath leaves, they're quite amazing when you handle them. After two years of developing, on a summer morning they emerge from the water. They crawl up a reed, cling on with there feet and burst out of the casing, revealing their wings which they then open.

This shot was taken using my 20D, SMC Takumar 135mm f/3.5 and a 17mm extension tube.

Voila, you have yourself a beautiful dragonfly!

See if you can spot a slight improvement in my photographic skills over the last two years? :D

Yes, razor sharp shot of a close-up picking up excellent detail, with a very good bokeh.
Well done.
