My PC has never frozen, gotten a virus, worm, trojan, or anything in the 1.5 years I've owned it. And I never shut it off. If you are a smart PC user, they can be every bit as safe as a Mac.

That being said, I want a Macbook Pro to compliment my PC desktop.

Cool, have you ever used OSX?

Bought my first computer in 1984-a 128K Mac and have never gone back. Currently on a quad core G5 with 30 inch monitor and couldn't be happier with it. I'm not as evangelical as some, so if someone uses a PC, its fine with me. I am forced to use a PC at work, and they have definitely gotten better over the years.

Finally. Sorry pc users had to wait 6 months... LMAO

Like we had to wait for Breeze Browser, Downloader Pro, and Raw Shooter. Oh, wait - those still don't run on Macs natively. And every time Apple releases a new OS revision it breaks Canon's software.

I suspect this news from 1997 (external link) is what danedel was referring to; I don't know what the current status of their relationship is, though.

I have 2 PC's, one with Windows and the other with Linux. I also have a Mac. Each is used for a different purpose. The article on the Symantec web site is just plain wrong. We are fooling ourselves if we think that a Mac is somehow immune to the malicious activity of criminal programmers. It is a good computer, superior to a PC in some respects.

Why are you asking? Will you change platforms if someone tells you it's a good idea?

PC. not because i dislike macs (parents have 2 and i like them just fine). i just like to tinker with things, and like pc gaming, so therefore would rather have a PC. i also agree with the earlier poster, that a responsible and knowledgeable PC user can keep their PC running just fine without any problems. the advantage of macs is that they work a lot easier for those who just simply want them to work.

Doesn't matter. They are just tools. Both need to be somewhat new and have space(for your RAW files) and ram to process multiple files.

This may be true. I don't know because I don't use Canon's software on my mac. If Canon's software is an important factor then by all means use a pc.
