Mac = Beer? I would rather have likened it to a fine wine. :)

I'm a Mac user, about to take the 2x 120GB RAIDed HDs and turn them into external storage for pics. I have a few 20ish HDs floating about and are about to get added to the mix. I have in the order of 100GB of pics as it is from the first 10K+ pics taken w/ my 10D.

Have you tasted a finely crafted homebrew vs budweiser or coors? If the aforementioned it the context of what he is saying, then right on! I brew my own and it can't even compare to the mass produced stuff. Now if you are a wine person, the same applies, the old wine in a box vs a port. Speaking of beer, it is cool taking a pic of Guinness as it settles in a pub in Bunratty, Ireland. Been there, done that!

Damn it, Canuck: You've made me thirsty! I'll meet you at the pub in 10. :D

We'll be sipping the new Apple iBeer.

Mmmm... alcoholic beverages that use their memory more effectively and are far more reliable and less prone to hardware/OS incompatabilities than PCs and come preloaded with software that creative people will actually, truly find useful... ;)

In all seriousness, take a good look at Mac, and you might just be surprised.

I AM surprised...that MACs are still around! Now that Jobs has seen the light on Intel, it's just a matter of time. Now the ipod...thats a different story!

I use a Mac. Bought the MacBook Pro 15" after using a PC for many years and I've been extremely happy with it. You know what they say: "Once you go Mac, You'll never go back!" :D

I use a Mac.

Have owned PCs but I prefer using and owning a mac. Plus they're industry standards for what me and the missus do (design and journalism) so it doesn't make sense to use anything else. If I wanted to play games, have neon lights and an all the other nerd-fest type things then I'd buy a PC.

I use a mac. However i use a pc for my animation work. I think its daft to discount either. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

This is interesting...

I use a PC at work but hug my Mac, each night, when I get home.

I used to be pretty biased against Macs but with the advances in compatibility and sheer number of programs available over the last 5 years, there is no compelling reason to buy a PC. Unless, you like games and/or need to run very specific or specialized programs.

My PC is old...a PIII 733, 512 RAM, 200 GB drive and an OLD 16 MB Voodoo Video card, but I have no issues with photoedits or running Photoshop CS2 or any other photo applications I need.

I'm not sure what the need for speed is, unless you are pumping out hundreds of photo edits as a profession. A dual core Pentium for photo edits? I guess I could see the need for you people with 16 MP cams, but an 8.2 MP shot? Definitely nice, but not necessary. Am I missing something here?

Wrong about Mac's and viruses. Brings the whole article into question. And yes as of the writing of the article (July 13, 2006 08:00 AM) there were Mac viruses. Although not in the abundance that PC's have seen.
