I was wondering if anyone has a wacom tablet they use for pic editing if so how do you like it and was it worth the money?
I did notice right now the 99.00 one comes with PS Elements 3,Corel Painter 2 Essentials and Just Write Office 4.
Seems like the software is worth the purchase but just wanted to get some input on this.

I have a Wacom Graphire 9x12 (I believe). I use it more for masking/retouching than anything else, but no, I don't use it a lot.

I use mine all the time. It is much easier doing selections on that than using the mouse, at least for me. In a photoshop course that I took last year it was interesting to hear the diverging opinions on this. It's one of those things that takes some time to get used to but well worth it in the end. I think you either love them or hate them...with no in between.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

I have a 6x8 Intuios and I love it, but hardly use it, especially now that I have a wireless mouse. I feel bad because it was an awesome Christmas gift. Hope to use it more soon.

Use the Intuios 3 to some extent on every photo.

I couldn't get through the day without my 6x8 Intuous 3.

I'm taking pictures of everything, so go ahead and take this place away from me.

Yes, all the time in PS, and absolutely. Once you get used to it, you will wonder how you got along without it.

This is one of my best time savers (along with dual/tri monitors!), also with keystrokes attached to the pen I can do multiple actions (such as save as, repeat last filter, stamp layer etc). If i am in PS then I will be using it. Other than that I will be using the mouse.

If you don't have the software, then its' a good purchase. If you do just save yourself some money ;). Take the time to learn the pen, it's not going to come to you overnight. The advice I was given was to lock the mouse away and do all tasks with pen!

Well it seems for the most part most of you love the tablets and the pen.
I do think I will consider getting one I do alot of graphics etc and I feel it will only help me in that as well. If it makes selections easier thats big plus in my book.

Thanks,
Sonya

I bought the wacom yesterday and the pens so sensative I have to figure out how to adjust it but I can see it being worth while to have.
I love all the free software in came with especially PS Elements 3 but the other programs look pretty good to.

Any good sites on adjusting the pen the few pages of instructions are a joke?

Thanks,
Sonya

I've got an old ArtZII and a Graphire. Use both. Rest of the family never did find out how to do a double click with the pen.

If you have a Wacom tablet, you wil find a applet in control panel (called unsuprisingly Wacom)that's where you customise the pen(s)/mouse for your usage and set commands to the buttons. You can manually adjust the sensitivity or do it 'automatically' with the applet.

Also if you get chance download the latest drivers from Wacom they update pretty regulary.
