I recently visited the Barn Owl Centre in Brockworth, near Gloucester, UK and they do wonderful photography days, featuring their captive bred raptors. I took well over a hundred shots and these are the best two of an eagle owl. I was so pleased with them, I broke off from playing with my photos of the other birds to share these two with you.

The detail in the eyes and feathers is quite outstanding and a good action shot in number two, well done.

Great shots, nice DOF shows off what you really want to show off, well done. How often do they do the photography days. I will be in UK next year for a time.

Thanks for all your comments. Details about the Barn Owl Centre can be found at www.barnowl.co.uk (external link). Photography days can be arranged by appointment and there are also other events. I mixed my photography day with 'countryside activities', which means donning the gauntlet and learning how to fly some of the birds. I enjoyed every second of it!
