It took me a long time to make up my mind (and free some green paper sheets), but it should be on it's way now, my 70-200 2.8 L (non IS).
Cant wait to try it out and show you the results.

Now, a grip and the 24-70 2.8 L should be next on my list.

:)

I was in doubt a longggggggg time about buying the 100-400 or the 70-200 (I travel to Africa every few years for photo safari). I decided that I would more benefit from the 2.8 70-200 (low light).
What do uou think, as owner of both lenses ? Do you use the 100-400 a lot next to the 70-200 ?

I just got my 70-200 2.8L last week, and after putting it through a full day of work in NYC, I was deeply impressed. I even posted my first impressions on the lens: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=191527

By the way, did you get the non-IS or the IS? You said you got the non-IS in your post but it says IS in your sig.

I would really like that lens, so if you get it and find that you don't like it, just send it my way ;) .

Good way to jump up to a quality, professional lens. That was my first good lens. Defintely not a bad choice. You'll find reasons to want to use the lens. You'll see!
