I am afraid i am a real beginner. i read alot, and practice a bit. i finally got a handle on bokeh, and learning some DOF... no moving targets yet, though i know all you bug shooters will be dissapointed. hehe.

Tell me what you think, but be gentle, my first attempt at macro. i used my 28-90mm sigma on its 90mm macro setting. this is untouched, uncropped, just shrunk for the post

Nice first try! I love the colors combo ;) keep practicing, you will get better and better. Try getting a set of tubes if you haven't. You will love it ;)

Nice to see you over in the Macro section Mike. :)
You're off to a great start - non-moving subjects are perfect for getting your focusing practice.
I'm curious, what is the little brown bit at the bottom? Looks like a wing.

thank you guys, i appreciate the comments. i didnt see it while i was there, but i was on the lookout for good bugs to shoot, it must have been a dead leaf, but from this view it looks like a moth wing. ill have to keep an eye out for those.
