how to cheat at bird photography... find one on the ground.

then move something to block the sun... (it is 107F here)

well... I cant seem to find its nest, so I build it one myself.... mother follows, while continuously screaming at me.

You built the nest yourself?! It looks pretty good to me and the little chick seems comfortable. Well done!

yup, found some old hay, added a little mud to solidify the nest once it dries out, and pushed my fist down in the middle to create a cavity for the little guy (or gal). I went back later today to check on him, and he was happily hiding in the shade with his mom squaking at me for being close to her chick again.

thanks for the complement. I had doubts in my nest building abilities, as I am fairly certain the bird would have done a better job. It was just a quick alternative to the poor lil one sitting out in the heat of the day. :)
