I happened to come across these as I was wandering around the town I'm staying in for now. I played with the color a little bit, and reduced the picture size. These were taken in full manual, which just I'm starting to use / learn, with the kit lens and no filter.

The first one is very expressive, could use a tighter crop and a bit of lightening I think but I am new too.

Welcome to the forum Scott!:)
They both look a little underexposed on my screen. Perhaps some flash would help bring out the subject. The angle is a little steep too.
Keep shooting and posting.

I increased the brightness and contrast a little bit, and did some cropping. I need to double check the brightness of my lcd as I think I have that maxxed out right now, which is probably why the exposure seemed ok at the time. Thanks for the comments.
