I got my canon 2.8 100 mm macro today. I took a few shots... hand held, natural lighting, so not 100% sharp, but these are some of my first attempts. Right now I'm just trying to figure out how to focus it. LOL

looks like you are paying attention the the background...like the contrast.

looking at the picts, the error could be in the DOF or aperture setting.
please try with settings above F11 and the picts will have more punch.

You've done a good job with these images, very nice. I really like the 3rd shot, the colours are amazing.

I really like this series :D These pics are too small. Do you have bigger versions?

These look good. You have done well getting close to dragons with a 100mm.

Like Omri says post them a bit bigger, 600 pixels across at least.

Nice job. I really like the dragonfly images. They're sometimes difficult to capture.

Thanks all.

I have bigger images at http://woman4life.smugmug.com (external link) under critters. IT will be the last page.

A lot of my photos are up.. the good, the bad and the ugly. LOL Not all are with the SLR. Some are just snapshots.

Thanks, I admire your work so that means a lot.

I'm not quite sure about the bug, but the flower is a purple sage. I was focusing on the flower and there were two of those bugs hanging about. They kept wanting to give me their backside, though. LOL
