During the down time at an iron ore mine on Bell Island, Newfoundland the workers took up an extracurricular activity. Because the the next cove wasn't accessible they decided to bore their way through the hill with tools that was borrowed from the mine. Im not sure how it long took them but the tunnel is about 20 paces in length.
When we reached the end of the tunnel and onto the beach we dscovered Caplin were rolling. Caplin are small fish 6-8 inches in length and during the time of spawning they swim in towards the shore to lay their eggs. These fish are absolutley delicious to eat so needless to say we were up to our ankles in schools of fish and scooping up dozens with our hands. I bet you know what we had for suppper.
In the first shot you can see part of the next cove. In the second shot you can see the foot path (left of center)where i took the first shot.
