Hi all,

I just nipped into the garage today to grab something and realised just how many spider webs there are in there. I went and grabbed the camera and started hunting. Since getting this 100mm macro lense I have started noticing a lot more beasties arround the house and garden. It was really dark in there so i had to use the onboard flash and manual focus but I got a few good shots. This one is my favourite. The focus isnt perfect but I think it gives a really cool sense of him guarding his lair! He looks like a monster but was actually probably only about 1cm wide :)

Yeah I eventually tried to get him move a little bit (by just touching a bit of the web that was quite far away from him) but he legged it and wouldnt come back out :(

Lovely shot- looks quite sinister in there :)
You've just found one of the delights of macrophotography, it makes you look at things in a different way and you suddenly see notice lots of things you hadn't seen before.

That's a nice shot of a funnel web spider (aka house spider I believe). Nasty bites, but not deadly. They'll hide in their silk funnels until prey hits and then move like lightning.
