My first macro! Okay, I took a few to see what I was doing but this is from the first series. I just got a Canon 100mm f2.8 macro and am learning. Comments welcome.

Nice! I love the writing on his collar. Is the color accurate? I never know what color US bills are anymore. Was easy not so long ago when they were all green! lol

Makes me want to try out MY new 100 2.8 lens on money too. ;)

Athena! It is incredible how small that writing is! The color is absolutely wrong. I did a custom white balance and shot this one. I see water drops in my future!;) :D

Surely you aren't surprised to find me in the macro forum? lol
I have been scarce here the past few months, but this is certainly one of my favorite hang-outs. I even shoot insects and spiders! :)

Tell me when you're going to do water and we'll PM a similar set-up to do. I need some inspiration.

In the meantime, maybe tomorrow I can remember to do some money. I have only Thai money in my portfolio - need some green(?)backs. :D

PS: That second one is lovely - do you sharpen as part of your PP?

No not surprised to see you I know this is your thing. Money is fun. I really like us money. I like the old American images and the way they are printed. Is Thai money nice? Belize has some nice underwater scenes.
I would love to do a project, inspiration is good. I am thinking of a good abstract also.
I did nothing PP to the first shot. On the second one I cropped it just a hair to better line up my crooked horizon.

EDIT: That is not cropped, so I did nothing to it either. Note the ever so slight counterclockwise cant

I'm happy to see you here! And also happy to see your new Avatar. ;) Post it larger?

Thai money is neat - not over the top tho as the King is not really a looker and he's on all the money. ;)

Want me to post a shot of it? - I have one one my P2000, which is with me.

What macro theme do you wanna do? Has to be something we both have access to.

PS: DO enter the abstract macro challenge. Make me happy. ;)

Wonderful. I'll be waiting for macro challenge submission. ;)

You should post an 800 of your avatar here, in the "Show us your face" thread. :)

I'll have a think on subjects and get back to you. Or if you have one in mind, share.

Here's 110 Thai Baht. This coin is quite old - not many left in circulation.

Nice picture. I like how you did the background, very creative.
I had a few macro ideas but am up for anything, pebbles, needles or pins, coins, locks, and moss came to mind but I am a noobie.

I'm drawing a wee bit of a blank (haven't been out to get that well worn 2X4 with knots - although there's one in our garden gate that looks tempting), so why don't we continue with money shots in this thread until we settle on a subject? Might be easier for me to pick something novel once I get back home. Life on vacation is crazy! :)

Thanks Short.
It's sunlight coming through french doors from the lower left (key) and a 12" silver reflector on the right at about 2 o-clock (fill).
I didn't realize until I posted it that we used the same bill. It was the least crinkled one in my wallet.
Ur up. :)
