Nice ones DMDX. How'd you get that messed up $10 note?

Thank you. The $10 came directly from a bank. My friends sister-in-law works there. I have several error notes, here is another example of an error. This is a $100 offset print error. I think the size on this one is ok since it has extra 'defacing' ink showing...

Neat money DMDX. Is that a $500 bill?

Yeah, that's a $500... here's a full shot (almost full shot, see below). Money sure was pretty back then... I'll post a close up of my 1899 $1. The threads in that bill look like sewing threads...

Edit: Resized per this information from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing...

Thread detail in the 1899 $1 and a close up of the eagle...
It looks like they just cut up sewing threads and dumped them in the mix when they were making the paper for the currency...

high tech anti-counterfeit - sewing threads.

Ya know, several countries are using plastic to make their "paper" money now. Even Malaysia has a bill with a see thru window in it. Cool stuff.

I have a really cool bill from France with the plastic window in it as well as a double sided "little prince" drawing. I'll have to photograph it tonight.

Here's a messed up state quarter... not a very good shot, it's in one of those cardboard and plastic holders and somehow the heads side came up in a different tint... so we'll call this... how not to photograph a coin...

That is a riot DMDX. For some reason it reminds me of those machines you can put a penny in to squash it up. When I was a kid, we used to put pennies on the railroad tracks to squash them. ;) Probably illegal.
