Recommend a good book on metering

Sometimes I am having trouble with metering. I normally just use the on-camera matrix meter and get acceptable results since I shoot RAW. Lately, I've been reading some books and tried to manually meter. However, I find the result to be worse than the auto exposure. For example, one book recommended always metering off the blue sky, and this turn out to be a hit or miss. Could someone recommend a good book/webpage on light and metering?

Not sure if you are in the US or UK but here is a UK amazon link to a very good book that may help you:

I've been using SLR's for about 20 odd years and it still helped me :-)

Thanks, Kevin. I have that book, and I love it. In fact, I got the idea to meter off of the sky from that book. The problem is, 70% it works, and the rest 30% it turns out to be worse than the matrix (auto) exposure of the camera. I will try to upload some photo to show "expose to the sky" vs. auto exposure when I get home.
