I was out on the town last night and I happened to have my camera with me. I came across this fire. It turns out that this was a controlled burn to clear the property for new construction. I got a handful of photos that I thought were decent, but this one is my favorite. I'm not much of a 'photojournalism' style photographer but this was an easy attempt so I didn't let it slip by...

Ha! You never know...

My sister lives in Roanoke Rapids, NC so I was also interested in where that fire was.

Fires sure make good pictures, either just due to their beauty, or like in this case, when you really have a sense of drama in the composition.
Truly professional picture, more please :)

Thumbs Up To:
*BEAUTIFUL! Gosh... I love fire, and the fireman sillhoted is great!
*It is very dramatic, evokes emotion which is important in my opinion.

Thumbs Down To:
*Well the noise I dont like, but there is nothing that can be done that, except with photoshop processing
*The overexposed part of the fire behind the water is distracting, but I like photographing fire, and it is difficult not to overexpose it... or to get an even exposure across in general.

One of my favorite documentary style photos I have seen in a while, though.

This is a fantastic picture very dramatic and inviting. How long was your exposure? Just wondering because of how focused the firemen are.

Great picture. Good thing they were training too, it looks like they could use more practice at controlling a hand line (speaking from several years of experience here)!!
Nice job on your part though.
