The one I hate is not having the IS on the 17-85 and then seeing pics realizing they could have been lot sharper!

Yeah.. I got caught out with the AI servo thing last night too. I wonder why I wasn't getting a nice "peep" sound on focussing. Set it back onto single shot and got the focus sounds back again..

Shooting with the lens cap on causes severe underexposure, and plays havoc with your shutter speed. :D :D :D

Hi

Used one shot autofocus for the first session of a track day recently. Wondered why my panning technique was so dire that day.

All the best

shoot w/o card is fun though. i've taken out the card and blasted away several hundred pics to fool people who get pissed off at my "monstrosity" of a camera (only xt+grip+70-200, i don't want to imagine what people think of a 1d+400mm f2.8). best part, none of the shots count towards your tally (go ahead and try, if you shoot 100 pics w/o card from img_0001, when you take a pic with card, it'll be img_0002

i use only a 1gb card, but i've taken several hundred raw images on it in a single day without access to a computer. for the price of what a 4gb extreme costs, i got myself 40gb and a 3.8in screen to boot. the p-series is the best purchase i've made besides my camera and the 70-200IS.

haha yeah too bad the XTs are only rated at like 50,000 cycles :p

I do the memory card thing a lot. Especially when I am shooting cars at work. I will grab the camera and the card is still in the reader. I feel like such and idot.

How long is it before you stop making noob mistakes? I've been into photography for >20 years, but still...

Last wekend we had a street party and I was trying to take some shots of the fireworks. I wanted to change the aperture, and I had the camera tilted back on the tripod so I couldn't see the setting in the viewfinder. I went to switch on the backlight for the LCD display on the rear of the camera, but unfortunately fumbling around in the dark I must have hit the button next to it which is the drive mode button. So for the next few photos I got a 10-second self-timer delay each time I pressed the shutter button - took me ages to work out why!!

I once spent the day at the new england aquarium taking what could've been some pretty great shots with my old 300D....until I realized I had taken all of them at ISO 3200!

I was too discouraged to try and retake all the shots so I just put my camera away and finished up the aquarium....I think my girlfriend was rather happy that it happened because for once I put my camera away and actually held her hand. :p

With the "undetouchables" firmware upgrade, you have the option of 3200, as well as some cusom functions. I used it with my 300 before I got my 20D.
