Do I have my calculations right here?

Hyperfocal := (FocalLength * FocalLength)/(FStop*CoC);
DepthFar := (Hyperfocal * Distance)/(Hyperfocal - Distance);
DepthNear := (Hyperfocal * Distance)/(Hyperfocal + Distance);
DepthOfField := DepthFar - DepthNear;

It's a bit more complicated than that. Do a quick google for DOF calculator. There's a lot of programs for excel and PDA (and formulas included).

Here are a few resources:

In the FAQ you will find a page with formulae.

If you download the DOF calculator in my signature, there is a tab which shows the formulae.

A critical thing to remember is that all units used must be the same. If your focal length is in millimeters, your distance in feet, and your circle of confusion in microns, the formulae won't work. You have to convert every value to the same unit before applying the formulae.

Aha. Looks like I forgot to convert feet to meters etc. I'll check my calculations again.
